1950 – Tol-Sun Federal CU opens to serve Toledo Sun Oil employees with $100 in a cigar box.
1960 - At the end of the first year the Credit Union has over $98,000 in assets.
1964 - Total assets reach $1 million.
1968 - The Board of Directors opens membership to Sun retirees and family members
1971 - The Board of Directors opens membership to Sun Oil Company employees anywhere in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. Total assets reach $2 million.
1973 - The CU begins batch data processing.
1975 - The CU celebrates its 25th anniversary. Total assets exceed $3.6 million.
1978 - The CU begins offering share draft (checking) accounts.
1979 - Total assets reach $10 million.
1981 - The CU moves to a new branch in Oregon, Ohio. Total assets reach $15 million.
1983 - The CU introduces Visa credit and debit cards, and ATM access. Total assets reach $20 million.
1985 - The CU merges Sun Employees CU of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania forming Sun Federal CU. Philadelphia and Radnor, Pennsylvania locations open. Total assets reach $25 million.
1988 - The CU starts MEMBERS Financial Services program (PLANAMERICA)
1991 - The Philadelphia Refinery branch opens. CU merges with TV Guide CU, adding 1,500 members and a satellite office.
1993 - The CU welcomes its first Sponsor (Select Employer) Group, GEM Industrial of Toledo.
1994 - Oregon Federal CU merges with Sun Federal CU.
1995 - Arrowhead, Toledo Cloverleaf and Defense Supply of Philadelphia Federal CUs merge with Sun Federal CU. Total assets exceed $100 million, and membership exceeds 20,000. The Arrowhead branch opens in Maumee, Ohio.
1996 - The CU starts the Simone Zajac Wealth Management Group, LLC (Simone Financial Services).
1999 - Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania branch opens.
2000 - The CU partners with EPAK Atlantic Federal CU, adding a new branch in Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania. The branch moves to West Lawn, Pennsylvania later that year.
2003 - Philadelphia Orchestra Federal CU merges with Sun Federal.
2004 - Eagle Point and St. Anne Mercy Federal CU merge with Sun Federal, adding branches in West Toledo, Ohio and Westville, New Jersey.
2005 - The CU Support Center opens in Maumee, Ohio centralizing all back-office employees.
2006 - Members Capital CU (North West Federal Credit Union and Toledo Telephone Employees CU, Inc.) merges with Sun Federal, adding the Executive Parkway and Tremainsville branches in Ohio.
2009 - The CU begins the Business Solutions program and introduces Shared Branching
