March 19, 2020

In our continued commitment to inform members of how we are adapting to the Coronavirus ;(COVID-19), we have an important message regarding our Center City and Ellis Preserve branches.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has ordered the temporary closure of all “non-life-sustaining” businesses effective March 19, 2020 at 8:00 PM. As financial institutions are considered essential areas of life, Sun Federal will remain open for service. However, given that our Center City and Ellis Preserve branches are located in larger office buildings, which for the most part will be closed, we have made the decision, for the safety of our members and employees, to close these branches until further notice.

We understand this may be an inconvenience or interruption in your daily banking needs. If you have questions, would like to perform a transaction, or need assistance locating another branch, we strongly encourage members to utilize the following resources:

  •  Call: 800.786.0945

  • Email: SunSupport@sunfcu.org

  • Contact us through the Message Center in Online & Mobile Banking

  • Find a Branch/ATM near you

o   If using a Shared Branch, we advise calling these locations first as they may also be affected by the COVID-19 outbreak.

To continue serving you, all other Sun Federal locations in the Philadelphia area and all locations in the Toledo area (excluding our Perrysburg branch) will remain open with restricted lobby access and full access to drive-thru and walk-up Harmony/ATMs where available.

We have a range of digital services available so you can safely and securely access your account without visiting a branch.

Online & Mobile Banking: experience added peace of mind in the comfort of your home. Not signed up yet? Sign up is easy and secure. Enroll today!

New! Sun Card$afe: Receive instant notifications through our mobile app when your cards are used, set spending limits, and turn cards off/on as you please.

Visa Debit & Credit Cards for secure online spending.

As we continue navigating the COVID-19 circumstances, we remain committed to living our mission of “People Caring About People.” We will always act in the best interest of our members, employees, and community partners and will make every effort to keep you informed.

Thank you,

Your Sun Federal Family

March 17, 2020

As promised we are dedicated to keeping you informed of developments in the COVID-19 outbreak and its impacts. Beginning March 19, 2020 Sun Federal will limit services at all branches until further notice. Members will not be able to process transactions at the teller counter during this time. This change acts as the next step in our continued effort to limit the spread of Coronavirus while still ensuring access to your credit union accounts.

Select Loan Officers, Financial Advisors, and Member Service Specialists will practice social distancing and be stationed within confined offices at some of our branches. We can still open accounts, process applications, and provide guidance but we will not be available to meet with you face-to-face in the same room. Where Harmony/ITMs are available, our iMember Service Representatives can process transactions with you through interactive two-way video calls during business hours.

Here are the services you can expect in each specific branch:

Oregon, West Toledo, Detroit

  • For day-to-day member transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, etc.), drive-thru access is available to use Harmony/ATM.
  • Restricted lobby access for all other services.

Center City

  • For day-to-day member transactions (withdrawals, transfers, etc.), our walk-up ATM is available.
  • Restricted lobby access for all other services.

South Philadelphia

  • No member transactions available. Please visit our other Philadelphia area branches.
  • Restricted lobby access for all other services.

Perrysburg

  • Closed to all access. Please visit our other Toledo area branches.

Radnor, Ellis and West Lawn

  • For day-to-day member transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, etc.), lobby access is available to use Harmony/ATM.
  • Restricted lobby access for all other services.

Executive Parkway, Reynolds, Arrowhead, Northeast

  • For day-to-day member transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, etc.), lobby and drive-thru access is available to use Harmony/ATM.
  • Restricted lobby access for all other services.

If you have questions, would like to perform a transaction, or need to speak to a specific employee, we strongly encourage members to contact us at 800.786.0945 or SunSupport@sunfcu.org. Our call center is more than happy to connect you to an expert. To continue providing excellent service, our lobby staff have been temporarily reassigned to our call center and online services departments.

Though our in-person service is limited, all other operations are running smoothly. We have the following Cash-Free options available for secure account access anytime, anywhere:

Online & Mobile Banking: experience added peace of mind in the comfort of your home. Not signed up yet? Sign up is easy and secure. Enroll today!

New! Sun Card$afe: Receive instant notifications through our mobile app when your cards are used, set spending limits, and turn cards off/on as you please.

Visa Debit & Credit Cards for secure online spending.

Rest assured that this decision was not taken lightly. We are a service-based cooperative whose mission is to develop long-lasting relationships in our communities. The best way to preserve this mission is to put the health, safety, and security of our members and employees first.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

March 11, 2020

At Sun Federal, we are driven by our mission of "People Caring About People." In living
up to this commitment, our top priority is ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our
members, staff and community partners. As many of you may already be aware, Ohio
Governor Mike DeWine and Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf issued states of emergency
to help protect communities from the threat of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

We are taking precautionary measures to reduce the risk of contamination:

  • Our Disaster Preparedness team meets weekly or more often as needed to monitor the spread of the virus and will adapt credit union functions as conditions continue to develop.
  • At our branches, we will implement enhanced cleaning procedures by disinfecting our high-touch surface areas (including ATMs/ITMs) and offering hand sanitizer.
  • If you are concerned about visiting a branch, remember to take advantage of our convenient services like Online & Mobile Banking, Bill Pay, Visa Credit Card and ATM/ITM access.
  • Because of our commitment to safety, we have decided to alter our Annual Member Celebration, scheduled for April 25, 2020, to a smaller one-hour Business Meeting (details coming soon). It is in the best interest of our members and employees to move to this format until we are confident the virus is no longer a threat to our community. We will evaluate holding a member celebration later this year.

Rest assured, through thick and thin, we are committed to serving you. During this time,
education and prevention are key to maintaining a healthy community. As we navigate this
development, please consider the following:

  • With regards to your account security/privacy, as a reminder, we will never ask you to provide your social security number, account numbers, or passwords by phone, email, or text. Visit our Privacy Policy for more information on how we help protect you. If you suspect you have been a victim of fraud or if you receive a suspicious communication claiming to be from Sun Federal CU, let us know at sunsupport@sunfcu.org
  • To ensure the health of our organization, we are recommending that our members and employees follow the hygiene guidelines as detailed by the Centers for DiseaseControl and Prevention. It’s now more important than ever that we enforce these best practices at home, in the workplace and wherever we travel. If you are feeling ill, use your best judgment when considering visiting a branch.

We thank you all for your cooperation and assure you that we remain focused on providing you with the financial services you’ve come to rely on and keep you informed of further developments even during these uncertain times.
