Financial companies choose how they share your personal information. Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing. Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information. Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.

The types of personal information we collect and share depend on the product or service you have with us. This information can include:

  • checking account information and credit history
  • payment history and transaction or loss history
When you are no longer our member, we continue to share your information as described in this notice.

How does Sun Federal Credit Union protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

How does Sun Federal Credit Union collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you

  • open an account or apply for a loan
  • show your government-issued ID or provide account information
  • make deposits or withdrawals from your account 

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus, affiliates, or other companies.

 Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you 

State law and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

Affiliates

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

Nonaffiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

– Nonaffiliates we share with can include insurance companies, government agencies, plastic card processors (credit/debit/ATM), financial statement publishers or printers, mailhouse, mortgage companies, mortgage service companies, consumer reporting agencies, data processors, and check/share draft printers

Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

– Our joint marketing partners include CUNA Mutual Group's MEMBERCONNECT and credit card companies

Children's Online Privacy Policy

The privacy of our young members and other young visitors to our Sun Federal Credit Union ("SFCU") website is of great importance to us. Because we respect your privacy, SFCU has adopted the following privacy policy, which conforms to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998:

  • SFCU may collect information on domain names, dates, and times of visits to SFCU’s website. The information collected, will not include any personal identifiers. If the information is collected, it will only be used to record website visits to help assess the overall value of the website.
  • With the exception of the usage described above, visitor information is NEVER sold, given, or disclosed to third parties.
  • No cookies are required.
  • SFCU may use feedback information received by e-mail from visitors to respond to raffle entries, inquiries, comments, or suggestions.
  • E-mail information is never sold, given, or disclosed to third parties.

Should a child who we know to be under the age of 13 send personal information to SFCU, we will only use that information to respond directly to that child, seek parental consent or provide parental notice.
