OFCU Alerts Public About Text Message Scam

Otero Federal Credit Union, based in New Mexico, is sending out a warning to everyone. OFCU had multiple calls from members reporting that they received a text message claiming to be from OFCU and were asked review their profile by clicking on a link included in the text message. The link goes to a bogus website and provides a username and password prompt so fraudsters can capture personal information.

If you receive a suspicious text message with a link, DO NOT click on link but delete it immediately from your phone.

NOTE: Sun Federal Credit Union will never ask for your password via email, pop-up window or text message.
